Welcome to Your Vote Week runs from Monday 29th January to Sunday 4th February 2024.

In the Senedd Hannah met with the electoral commission to put together some resources and tell them about some of the great work in Flintshire.

Hannah said,

“There are already some brilliant ways for young people to get involved, whether it’s the Democracy in Action Day I host for Secondary School students or the Parliament Day in Ysgol Merllyn Bagillt, where the pupils hold referendums and conduct exit polls.”

‘Welcome to Your Vote’ is a week dedicated to helping young people understand more about elections, having a say and how you can get involved. I have written to all schools across the constituency with potential ideas to get our young people active in our democracy. Schools can get creative in how they get involved with the week, some of the options include:

• Hold a vote in your school or youth group which will make a real impact
• Run a voter registration drive for young people in your area
• Deliver our series of six lesson plans, or one of your own
• Organise an off-timetable democracy day in which your students design their own voter registration campaign
• Play democracy themed games
• Create fun social media content
